Organic Structures

Scaffolding of peace
Barely there, swaying in the breeze
Seismic activity wouldn't bring that down
Trust me, I've seen

I've seen the bamboos
Make it through everything
And blossom in twelve years
When everyone had given up on them

Celestial flute
Drawing the weak-minded
Back into the chariot
For a talking-to!

The blinds have been rolled down
The verandah is shaded now
Cool and airy
Dinner's getting ready

Skewers on the grill
Taking the heat, not burning
Standing up to the process
That put your dinner on your plate

Baby bamboo shoots
Sliced thin
In a spicy coconut curry
Fed you too

Such is the life of the insignificant bamboo tree
